CP Communications provided RF audio, RF video, communications, RF coordination, and private cellular and 5G broadcast support for MLB All-Star Week in Philadelphia.
The team supported the T-Mobile 5G Batting Practice Show ahead of the MLB Home Run Derby, deploying Haivision Pro460, Falkon, and StreamHub systems across the stadium and broadcast compound, with all RF systems routed through the HD-21 mobile unit.
The deployment included 31 RF video systems — 18 RF handheld cameras, three POV cameras, and one POV candle camera operating on a private 5G network — along with nine return video talent monitors. RF audio support covered 56 channels of wireless microphones using Sound Devices Astral Digital, Shure Axient Digital, and Q5X Axient Digital Player Mics. Communications infrastructure totaled 161 RF drops, including 60 Clear-Com FreeSpeak cellular beltpacks on a private 5G network for Netflix, MLB, FOX, and NHK; 24 Green-GO beltpacks for MLB Properties; 45 Riedel Bolero drops for MLB Entertainment; and 36 CrewCom drops for FOX Sports.
CP Communications also provided RF support for Netflix’s broadcast of the Home Run Derby, supporting Steadicam workflows. Additional coverage during the week included the MLB Draft, HBCU Swingman Classic, MLB Futures Game, MLBX 3v3, MLB Red Carpet, MLB Network studio shows, FOX studio and game coverage, and MLB Entertainment pregame and in-game entertainment.
